An Unfolded Music Poster (measures 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) Sounds of Space, the 1978 poster ("A symphonic voyage into the realm of the epic space films performed by the 100-piece Sounds of Space symphony"; "Hugo Rinaldi, Conductor"; "In acoustically magnificent concert settings"; "Gust appearance by Gary Kurtz, producer of Star Wars"; "Lasers by Lasermation") promoting a series of 5 concerts to be held in California and featuring The Suites from Star Wars and Close Encounters (by John Williams), 2001: A Space Odyssey (Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss), Flash Gordon (excerpt from Les Preludes by Franz Liszt), and Selections from The Planets (by Gustav Holst). Apparently, Hugo Rinaldi was the headline conductor, however John Williams led the 100-piece symphony for the Star Wars suite on at least one of the five nights. Artist: Bob Johnson Important Added Info: Note that this special "all Star Wars" auction began with a phone call from a VERY long time collector of Star Wars posters! He told us that he had reached a point in his life where he was wanting to sell his collection, and he asked if we could do it all at one time. Because he had 174 posters (including many of the most rare and desirable ones), we were happy to comply, but we told him that we would like to also add additional rare Star Wars posters from other collectors, and he agreed, and after we were consigned an additional 117 posters and related items, we have our auction! We asked the person who assembled the amazing collection of 174 posters in this auction to share with us a written history of how he came to assemble this amazing collection, and if you CLICK HERE, you will be taken to a separate page that shows you what he wrote for us! Condition: good. There are a few pairs of staple holes around the edges. It has some slight discoloration and rippling at lower right due to exposure to moisture (see our image).
