McGowan & Armand Schaefer railroad train crime adventure thriller serial ("A Thriller of the Roaring Rails in twelve crashing episodes"; "In 12 thrilling chapters") starring John Wayne, Shirley Gray, Conway Tearle, Tully Marshall, Matthew Betz (billed as "Mathew Betz"), Edmund Breese, James Burtis, Joseph Girard, Lloyd Whitlock, , J. Farrell MacDonald NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is the rare chapter #1 poster for this early John Wayne serial. This poster has full artwork (all the other posters have photographic tops and a stock bottom portion). This poster is rarely ever offered for sale! Condition: good to very good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, or it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years. You can see signs of the restoration from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good. The poster had paper loss at the middle crossfold and many creases, small tears, and tiny paper loss along most of the foldlines. There are four diagonal creases in the left 10" of the top foldline. There are stains, pinholes, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. This poster is an ideal candidate for re-linenbacking! The original restorer used a very thin linen. If the poster is re-backed, the restorer can surely make the poster's defects much less noticeable (there is really not much paper loss anywhere on the poster), and the poster will look great!
