In English!"; Academy Award Winner 'Best Foreign Picture'; about a brutish strongman in a traveling circus, who virtually buys a young woman to work as his assistant, and they have a complicated relationship, which is even more complicated by a handsome trapeze performer they run into) starring Anthony Quinn (billed as "Academy Award Winner Anthony Quinn"), Giulietta Masina, Richard Basehart, Aldo Silvani, Marcella Rovere, Livia Venturini, and Gustavo Giorgi. Note that Fellini had been a screenwriter since 1942 and a director since 1950, with great success, but it was THIS movie which gave him worldwide acclaim and started him on his road to being one of the world's greatest directors.
