It was first produced in New York City in 1842 before the company relocated to Brooklyn in the early 20th century. In the mid-1970s, Schaefer Beer was one of the top selling beers in the U.S., ranking as high as fifth in both the 1950 and 1970 rankings. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This billboard advertising poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded billboard is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this billboard needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Also note that this billboard was printed in 12 sections. Condition: good to very good. There is one small piece of the poster (the piece from the top left, with only background), which has considerable staining and some paper loss along one foldline. The other pieces of the poster have some rippling (likely due to exposure to moisture), and some small tears and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines.
