An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14 1/2" x 22" [37 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's The Trouble With Harry, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock mystery crime black comedy ("The unexpected from Hitchcock!"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; "Based on the Novel by Jack Trevor Story"; about a group of people in a small New England town who find a body in the woods, and all suspect themselves of having something to do with the death) starring Edmund Gwenn, John Forsythe, Shirley MacLaine (billed as "introducing Shirley MacLaine"; in her first movie role!), Jerry Mathers, Royal Dano, Mildred Natwick, Mildred Dunnock, and Philip Truex (uncredited; in the title role as Harry) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has an image of Alfred Hitchcock at the top looking down at the cast. Because that was often done after 1960, when he achieved greater fame with "Psycho", we wonder if this is not a 1960s re-release, but there is nothing to indicate it, plus we have never seen an "earlier" version. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thin paper backing, it can be sent rolled (however, it will be rolled with the image outward, because paperbacked posters should always be rolled that way, while linen posters are always rolled with the image inward). The top blank area was folded back and stapled and there were some pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to paperbacking.
