An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Romance in Manhattan, the 1935 Stephen Roberts New York City illegal alien romantic melodrama ("She wanted to marry a millionaire. He had big ideas too..."; in one of his best roles, Lederer is an illegal Czechoslovakian immigrant in New York City who is helped by a chorus girl and a cop to hide from the authorities, and naturally, they eventually fall in love) starring Francis Lederer, Ginger Rogers, Arthur Hohl, Jimmy Butler, and J. Farrell MacDonald NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The card has staining in the top blank area that slightly extends into the top of the image. There are a few smudges and small stains in the other borders. There is staining on the back of parts of the left 1-2" of the card, and a square of staining on the back of the bottom left, but fortunately, because the card is on heavy paper stock, the stains on the back do not affect the front. The only significant defects in the image are scuffing in the lower right background area and what may be faint vertical scuff lines in the middle of the middle left image of Lederer (although that could be a minor printing defect). If one were to mat out the top area, one could certainly display this card as it is, or one might choose to have restoration performed (and it should be a relatively simple restoration, since it is likely that much of the staining described above can be removed chemically).
