An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 21" [36 x 53 cm]) (Learn More) Shadows of Paris, the 1924 Herbert Brenon France silent romantic love triangle crime melodrama ("Adapted by Fred Jackson from the play 'Mon Homme' by Andre Picard and Francs Carco"; about a sleazy Parisian woman who loves a gangster, and he is drafted in World War I and reported dead, and she marries a rich man and becomes a society woman, but then she meets her old boyfriend and starts up with him again, but he steals her jewels and her husband's secretary blackmails her) starring Pola Negri, Adolphe Menjou, Charles de Rochefort, Huntley Gordon, and George O'Brien (in his fourth credited movie role!). Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: fair to good. There are silver stains down the top two-thirds of the left border, with some extending into the background and a few into Negri's hair. There are nail holes around the edges and a line of paper loss in the bottom border extending up into the credits (see our image). Certainly, a talented restorer can paperback the card and after proper restoration, it will look fantastic, but please do not bid on this window card unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
