An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Special One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) On Golden Pond, the 1981 Mark Rydell (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) family relationship melodrama ("When life is at its finest... when love is at its fullest..."; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about an old couple who move to their summer lake and deal with relationships with their daughter, her son-in-law, and their impending death; based on the play by Ernest Thompson, who also wrote the screenplay) starring Katharine Hepburn (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Henry Fonda (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as a retired professor; in his final movie role), Jane Fonda (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Doug McKeon, Dabney Coleman, William Lanteau, and Christopher Rydell. Note that this was the only movie that Henry Fonda and his daughter Jane Fonda appeared in together. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: C.D. de Mar Important Added Info: Note that this special one-sheet was printed on a heavy stock (exactly the same as that of 30x40s). We don't know why this was done, but it is a pretty cool idea, and we wish it had been done more often! Also note that this poster was never machine folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing. After 1980, it quickly became standard for posters to never be folded, and were shipped to theaters rolled in tubes. But this made it far more likely for posters to pick up minor (or major) defects, and it can be difficult to find an unfolded poster from the 1980s in excellent condition. Condition: very good.
