Pakula (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Washington Post political scandal newspaper journalism melodrama ("The most devastating detective story of this century."; "At times it looked like it might cost them their jobs, their reputations, and maybe even their lives."; "Based on the book by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward"; Screenplay by William Goldman"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; "; about the exposure of the Watergate scandal) starring Robert Redford (as Bob Woodward), Dustin Hoffman (as Carl Bernstein), Jack Warden, Martin Balsam, Hal Holbrook (as Deep Throat!), Jason Robards Jr. (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; "as Ben Bradlee"), Jane Alexander (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Meredith Baxter, Ned Beatty, and F. Murray Abraham NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that while this set contains eight cards, it does NOT appear to be a complete set. This was originally a set of nine cards, and one of the scene cards is missing (perhaps it was used by a theater that had a frame that displayed eight cards, and the ninth card became separated at that time). However, since these cards are the sort that were apparently used in Canada (see below), it is slightly possible that they only distributed a set of 8 cards in Canada. However, please do not bid on this set thinking it is surely a complete set. Also note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1976, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. A few of the stills have border wear or clear tape in a border. Otherwise, they are in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
