An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Dance Magic, the 1927 Victor Hugo Halperin silent New York City Broadway theater stage acting romantic melodrama ("Adapted from the novel by Clarence Buddington Kelland"; about a small town girl who goes to Manhattan and manages to get a job in a chorus of a major show, and when the leading lady gets sick one night, the girl takes her place and becomes a star, similar to the later "42nd Street"; but when she returns to her small town, they condemn her for her sinful dancing, and she must go to her church and renounce her actions to the entire congregation!) starring Ben Lyon, Pauline Stark, Louis John Bartels, Isobel Elsom, and Harlan Knight. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster! We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning (and it is not only this poster that is rare, because we have only previously auctioned two inserts, a window card, and a herald, and no lobby cards or stills.)

Condition: good to very good. There are a number of diagonal creases scattered down the left and right of the poster. There are also light stains in the right border. There is separation and tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some small tears and separation scattered in the top horizontal fold. There is staining on the back of the middle right of the image, but fortunately it has very little effect on the front. These are the type of defects that respond really well to restoration. Most of the creases and light staining can be removed chemically and during the linenbacking process, and after a relatively simple linenbacking the poster will look fantastic and have very little paint restoration.
