Date Sold 6/24/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 10 1/4" x 11 3/4" [26 x 30 cm]) (Learn More) White Woman, the 1933 Stuart Walker romantic love triangle melodrama (from a story by Frank Butler; about an owner of a rubber plantation in Malaysia who marries a beautiful singer, but it is a loveless marriage, and she turns to a handsome plantation worker) starring Charles Laughton, Carole Lombard, Charles Bickford, Kent Taylor, Percy Kilbride, and Charles Middleton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these lobby cards have been heavily trimmed and they now measure 10 1/4" x 11 3/4" [26 x 30 cm], but it is uneven trimming. Originally the cards had an unusual title and credits area on the right side that made the right edge of the image uneven. Someone only wanted to save the image areas of each card and they trimmed away all of the title and credits area plus the blank borders. There are many, many cases where restorers have taken cards like these and recreated the missing areas, and that absolutely can be done with these cards (and since the missing area is essentially the same on each one, they would only have to do the same recreation five times.) And since the image areas are untrimmed, that means the restored card will look much better than one that needed part of its image recreated. However, do not bid on these very rare cards unless you can accept all of the above! Condition: fair. The cards were heavily trimmed but are otherwise in nice condition (see above).
