An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Autographed One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Texas Cyclone, the 1932 D. Ross Lederman cowboy western (about a man who shows up in a small town in Texas, and everybody thinks he is somebody who disappeared from there five years ago, including the man's wife, but he insists he is someone else, but he agrees to impersonate the missing man to help the wife stop outlaws who are trying to take her ranch; he does so, and at the end, it is revealed that he actually WAS the missing man, and that he was suffering from amnesia!) starring Tim McCoy (billed as "Daredevil Tim McCoy"), Shirley Grey, Wheeler Oakman, John Wayne (in an early role), and Wallace MacDonald. Note that the author of this screenplay surely was familiar with the case of Martin Guerre, the Frenchman who reappeared in similar circumstances in 1556, because he "borrowed" many of the elements of that story for this movie. Also note that John Wayne has a small role, playing the only one of the ranch hands who remained loyal to his former boss' wife after the boss disappeared (this was one of several supporting roles John Wayne played in Tim McCoy westerns before becoming a star). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet has been personally autographed (signed) by Tim McCoy (it reads "Best Wishes from Tim McCoy 1971")! One almost never sees autographed examples of the best of the 1930s western posters! Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a series of tiny tears and some tiny areas of paper loss in the vertical foldline. There was a much lesser amount of wear on the horizontal foldlines. There were some pinholes, creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was really nicely backed, as you really see only the slightest signs of restoration on the vertical foldline, and yet the poster does not have a "restored" look to it at all!
