An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm]) (Learn More) The Saturday Evening Post, the national magazine that was similar to Life magazine (which it preceded by over 200 years, because it was first published by Benjamin Franklin in 1728!), but which had more of a literary bent to it, with stories and condensed novels by notable authors, but with many well illustrated articles on current events and pop culture. The covers were always by "name" artists, and legendary artist Norman Rockwell became closely associated with the magazine and did more covers for them than almost anyone. The magazine was printed on a high quality paper stock, while many of its competitors were printed on "pulp" paper, so the issues of this magazine survive better and are of a much better quality. Artist: John Zimmerman Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: good to very good. This magazine does not have pages 25/26, and pages 63/64, yet it does not appear that any pages were removed from it, and our consignor tells us that he has another example of this magazine that is "missing" the exact same four pages, which makes us strongly suspect it is a numbering error on the pages, or that there was a last minute change that removed those four pages prior to distribution. If the magazine is truly missing 4 pages, it is in "fair" condition, but if it is not, it is in "good to very good" condition, because it has some wear around the edges, more so on the back cover. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Learn More about condition grades
