An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Russian Movie Poster (measures 16 1/2" x 23" [42 x 58 cm]) (Learn More) Othello, the 1956 (released in the U.S. in 1961 as "William Shakespeare's Othello") Sergei Yutkevich Russian romantic tragedy (based on the famous play by William Shakespeare; "And it is written of The Moor, Othello... That he 'loved not wisely but too well.'") starring Sergei Bondarchuk (in the title role as Othello), Irina Skobtseva (as Desdemona), Andrei Popov (as Iago), Vladimir Soshalsky, and Yevgeni Teterin Artist: B.A. Zelenski Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Russian movie! Also note that this looks like it could be an incomplete poster (because the artwork runs off the sides, and there is no title or credits on the poster). But we think it is complete, because it is the exact same size as other Russian export posters of this time, and because it also has blank areas around the edges. It is quite possible that they were sent blank to other countries so that the specific country that the poster was used in could overprint or write in titles in their own language. If anyone knows more about this poster or this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine. The poster is in pretty nice condition!
