An Original Vintage Newsstand Poster (No. 4338, June 23, 1941; measures 14" x 17") (Learn More)

Illustrated Current News was a company that started in 1913, which sold subscriptions to newsstands (and related businesses that sold newspapers and magazines), where they sent 12 1/2" x 19" posters (and similar sizes) as a marketing technique for attracting shoppers to the store's windows, so that people could read about current events in the window and would be more likely to go inside. Note that later posters were published under the title "Picturegrams".

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. There are some creases and tears of varying lengths around the edges of the insert. There are some small areas of paper loss at left. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid.
