An Undated (probably 2000s) Re-Release Theatrical Folded Lebanese Movie Poster (measures 77" x 77" [196 x 196 cm]) (Learn More) Captain America, the 1944 Elmer Clifton & John English Marvel Comics (at the time known as "Atlas Comics"!) comic book superhero crime fighting fantasy serial ("Based on the Character appearing in Captain America Comics"; "A Republic Serial in 15 Chapters") starring Dick Purcell (in the title role as Captain America; he died just a few months after shooting finished), Lorna Gray, Lionel Atwill, Charles Trowbridge, George J. Lewis, and John Hamilton. Note that this was the very first Marvel Comics character to be turned into a movie, and we don't know how faithful the adaptation was (in the movie, Captain America uses a gun, and we don't remember him ever doing that in the comics!). Artist: Zeineddine Important Added Info: Note that we previously auctioned this poster early in 2022, and sadly, the buyer has passed away, and his family has reconsigned this one of a kind hand painted poster back to us, so it is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned (and we doubt there is another, considering it was painted by hand!) Note that in the past few years, we at eMoviePoster.com were consigned recent Egyptian posters that were used at an Egyptian movie theater showing classic movies. We were told that these showings occurred starting around 20 years ago, and that they continued to the present day. Some of those posters appeared to be 10 or more years old, but others seemed to be from the last couple of years. In April 2021, we were consigned a handful of hand painted billboard sized Lebanese posters that apparently hung on the walls at similar Lebanese showings! Each of those measured around 6 feet by 12 feet, and each was a one of a kind poster, painted by a specific Lebanese artist, "Zeineddine". Since that time, we were consigned around two dozen more of these hand painted "billboard" Lebanese posters, but in the past year, we have not been consigned anymore, so we think there are no more to be auctioned! We have been told that this specific poster was used between 10 and 25 years ago at a showing of this movie in Lebanon, but we can't verify that for certain. The above is all the information we have about this poster, so please do not bid unless you can accept these uncertainties as to exactly when it was created and how it was used.
