Artist: Roger Kastel Important Added Info: Note that, while this poster was printed in Australia, it was specifically made to be used in New Zealand. This was not an uncommon practice and we have seen many examples. These posters often lack the printed rating which can be found on the Australian version of the poster. In the case of this poster, the Australian version has an "M" in the small white circle at lower right. This New Zealand version was printed with a blank white circle. Most examples of this poster had a snipe with the New Zealand rating over that area. In the case of this poster, someone removed that snipe and it had discolored the background area in a rectangular pattern. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster once had a snipe over the blank white circle at lower right (see above). The snipe was removed at some point and it discolored the area underneath it (see our image). It had a tape stain in the middle of the top blank border. Otherwise, it had pretty minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
