An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) Gold Diggers of Broadway, the 1929 Roy Del Ruth talking New York City theater stage acting romantic mistaken identity musical comedy ("100% Natural Color"; "Talking... Singing... Dancing... Picture"; "Girls! Songs! Dances! COLOR!"; "All natural color"; "Dances by Larry Ceballos"; "From play by Avery Hopwood"; about the son of a rich family in love with a chorus girl, and he wants her to meet his family, but she is too scared, so she sends her friend to pose as her, with wacky results) starring Winnie Lightner, Conway Tearle, Nick Lucas, Nancy Welford, Ann Pennington, Lilyan Tashman, "And a Chorus of 100 dazzling beauties". Note that this was only the second Technicolor sound movie ever made, and today only exists in fragments with the complete soundtrack. Also note that this movie bears a strong resemblance to Gold Diggers of 1933, but apparently they were not actually connected, only that portions of the plot and title were borrowed for the later movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could roll it or try to do so, but we would hate for that to happen, because of the beauty and rarity of the poster, and we think it is quite possible it would damage it, so we will only send it in a large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had its borders trimmed off and it was folded across the middle. On three sides, only the blank borders were trimmed, but on the top, an added 1" was trimmed, including the girl's hand. Otherwise, the image area did not have many defects at all. A really talented restorer added new paper to the missing areas, but did NOT completely back the poster (it is amazing that this can be done this well). The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
