Jimi Hendrix at Berkeley, the 1971 local theater poster promoting a concert movie with Jimi Hendrix and a short titled Rainbow, which featured music by the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. This double-bill was shown at the Garrick Cinema in New York City on and around September 27th, 1971. Note that Jimi Hendrix at Berkeley may be a re-titling or re-editing of the 1971 film Jimi Plays Berkely (which opened two weeks earlier than the showing of this movie), as it also showed portions of Hendrix's May 30th, 1970 concert at the Berkeley Community Theatre. And we cannot find anything about the movie "Rainbow" which was likely a short, and likely was made at this time. If anyone knows more about either of these films or the double-bill showing, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned one example of this poster before, and that one sold for $359!

Condition: fair to good. The poster was never folded but it was roughly handled so it has some light partial horizontal creases. It has some tears, smudges, and stains around the edges with two area of paper loss in the blank border. It has stains scattered on the back of the poster. Obviously this rare poster can be restored, but bear its defects in mind and look at our super-sized image before bidding on it.
