The Barretts of Wimpole Street, the 1934 Sidney Franklin author poetry family relationship romantic melodrama (a fictionalized re-telling of the classic romance between famed poets Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Robert Browning; from the stage play by Rudolf Besier; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Norma Shearer (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Elizabeth Barrett Browning), Fredric March (as Robert Browning), Charles Laughton (as Edward Moulton-Barrett, Elizabeth Barrett Browning's father), Maureen O'Sullivan, Katharine Alexander, Ralph Forbes, Ian Wolfe, and Una O'Connor

Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see!
