An Original Undated (probably 1940s; from the first release of this movie in Italy) Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78") (Learn More) The Fleet's In, the 1942 Victor Schertzinger Navy Naval military sailor romantic love triangle musical ("Based on the Story by Monte Brice and J. Walter Ruben, and a Play by Kenyon Nicholson and Charles Robinson") starring Dorothy Lamour, William Holden, Eddie Bracken, Betty Hutton, Betty Jane Rhodes, Leif Erickson, Barbara Britton, and Jimmy Dorsey & His Orchestra, Bob Eberly, and Helen O'Connell (Eberly and O'Connell are billed as "Featuring Bob Eberly and Helen O'Connell"). Note that this movie was made right before the U.S. entered World War II, but was released after Pearl Harbor, so therefore was likely one of the very last military movies made before the war! Also note that this movie was a remake of the 1928 movie of the same name starring Clara Bow, and it was remade in 1952 with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, re-titled "Sailor Beware". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Angelo Cesselon Important Added Info: Note that this is a very curious poster! It certainly seems to surely be from the 1940s, and it COULD be from when American movies first played in Italy after World War II, but it is also possible, because the movie was filmed before the U.S. declared war on Italy, that maybe the posters were printed for an intended Italian release in late 1941, but that the declaration of war in December prevented that from happening! If anyone knows exactly when this movie was first release in Italy, or about the releasing studio "Sangraf", please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this Italian two-panel poster was printed in 2 sections (designed to overlap) and when combined, the poster measures 55" x 78". The theater that used this poster glued the two pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used two-panels). Condition: good.
