An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Falcon Strikes Back, the 1943 Edward Dmytryk detective crime mystery thriller ("Murder menaces every move... as the Falcon stalks a silent killer who leaves no clues!"; "Luxury hotel shrouded in terror - by a killer so crafty he pins murder on The Falcon, himself!"; "Based upon the character created by Michael Arlen") starring Tom Conway (in the title role as The Falcon), Harriet Hilliard, Jane Randolph, Edgar Kennedy, Cliff Edwards, Rita Corday, Richard Loo, Cliff Clark, Edward Gargan & Olin Howland. Note that this is one of twelve movies that starred Tom Conway as The Falcon. In the first three movies, George Sanders (who had previously played "The Saint" in a series of movies) played The Falcon, but he apparently tired of the role, and wanted to leave, and instead of ending the series, or having a new actor play the role, he passed it on to Tom Conway in the fourth movie, "The Falcon's Brother" (they played brothers in the movie and in real life they were brothers!) in a clever move, the script had George Sanders' character killed, and his brother, played by Tom Conway, shows up and solves his murder, and becomes the "new" Falcon; and Conway went on to make a total of twelve Falcon movies. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed lobby cards that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahoney Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). In the past, we have auctioned many signed stills from Mr. Sorgi's amazing collection, and just a few lobby cards, but in this set of auctions, we are auctioning 156 signed lobby cards, all at one time (we are also auctioning some more signed stills from the same collection)! Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this card is authentic! This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase many great signed lobby cards. Condition: very good to fine.
