An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Dead of Night, the classic 1945 (released in the U.S. in 1946) Alberto Cavalcanti (billed as "Cavalcanti"), Basil Dearden & Robert Hamer English Ealing Studios horror crime mystery thriller anthology ("Like nothing in this world you've ever thrilled to before!"; "The unexpected, the tragic, the comic, the romantic, the dramatic..."; "Based on Original Stories by E.F. Benson and John Bains", and also based on stories by H.G. Wells and Angus MacPhail; the movie contains four unrelated short films linked by a dream sequence) starring Mervyn Johns, Roland Culver, Frederick Valk, Sally Ann Howes, Googie Withers, Hartley Power, Anthony Baird (billed as "Antony Baird"), Michael Redgrave (wonderful as a ventriloquist whose dummy takes on a life of its own, a plot that was later made the basis of entire movies!), and Ralph Michael NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was machine folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster was roughly folded in each direction, and that caused creases and areas of surface paper loss along both foldlines (some of what looks like "surface paper loss" in the right of the horizontal foldline is actually paper that is folded back, but I would certainly only want a professional to unfold the paper and glue it down). Someone put many pieces of clear tape on the back of the foldlines. There was a 4" vertical tear in the right of the top border and someone put clear tape on the back of that. Certainly, this poster has clear defects, but they are primarily along the foldlines, and after paperbacking by a talented professional, this poster will look great, and there will be little paint restoration needed!
