Abdul the Damned, the 1935 (released in the U.S. in 1936) Karl Grune English Turkey political upheaval suspense thriller (set in 1908 Turkey when the Ottoman Empire was on its last legs, and a group of "Young Turks" want to bring Turkey into the 20th century, and the "Old Turks" resist it, and a man plans a murder of a leader of the Old Turks, but solely to blame it on the Young Turks, so as to ruin their cause) starring Nils Asther, Adrienne Ames, Fritz Kortner (in the title role as Sultan Abdul Hamid II), John Stuart, Esme Percy, and Walter Rilla
