An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Manhattan Moon, the 1935 Stuart Walker New York City romantic love triangle mistaken identity musical comedy melodrama ("Romance with song"; "Hear the hit songs"; "Original Story by Robert Harris"; about a night club owner who is who is owed money by a playboy, and he agrees to forego the debt if the playboy helps him break into society, and they see an opera together and the night club owner falls for the star, and asks for an introduction, but the playboy instead introduces him to her double, which causes many humorous complications) starring Ricardo Cortez, Dorothy Page ("The Golden Voiced Star of Radio"), Henry Mollison, Hugh O'Connell, Henry Armetta, Luis Alberni, and Regis Toomey. Dorothy Page had a very interesting background! She married a doctor in 1925 when she was 21, and in the early 1930s, they were struggling, and she auditioned for Paul Whiteman, and became a singer with his band. In 1935, she was signed by Universal and appeared in two movies, but they dropped her. In 1937, Grand National, which was on the verge of bankruptcy after their disastrous loss on Something to Sing About, signed her to become "The Singing Cowgirl", and they made four movies with her over two years, but those did not do well, and the series was killed. She had several marriages and personal misfortunes, and she passed away in 1961 at the age of 57. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
