The Blind Goddess, the 1926 Victor Fleming romantic silent crime mystery melodrama ("A murder! A woman on trial for her life for a crime she had not committed! A young attorney torn between love and duty! A great love story! A picture that shouldn't be missed!"; "From the novel by Arthur Train"; a complicated tale of a politician whose wife leaves him with a baby daughter, and he raises her himself, and she grows up and has a boyfriend who the politician gets a job for in the District Attorney's office; the mother returns, now a decrepit old woman, and the father is found dead, and the mother is charged with the crime, and she refuses to talk, so her daughter won't learn how far her mother had fallen; the boyfriend finds out the truth and he resigns from the District Attorney's office to defend the woman, and ultimately clears her of the crime!) starring Jack Holt, Ernest Torrence, Esther Ralston, Louise Dresser, Ward Crane, and Richard Tucker. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
