An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Song of Russia, the 1944 Gregory Ratoff World War II (WWII) military romantic composer musical propaganda melodrama ("Flaming love story of an American!"; written, in part, by Edgar Ulmer; about an American going on a tour of Russia at the beginning of World War II, and falling in love, and get married [in a religious ceremony in Soviet Russia!], and Russia is presented as being a very happy place that is not much different from the U.S.!; then the Nazis invade Russia, and the girl joins the Resistance; the movie was primarily intended to convince Americans why they needed to strongly support Russia against Germany in World War II [MGM publicity said "it tells the story of the Russian people and the heroic defense of their native soil"], and later this movie was used as evidence against screenwriters Paul Jarrico and Richard Collins, who were both blacklisted as a result, while star Robert Taylor, who was an avid anti-Communist, stated that he had been forced to make the movie by MGM!) starring Robert Taylor, Susan Peters, John Hodiak, Robert Benchley, and Felix Bressart

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny areas of paper loss in the left half of the top foldline and in the top quarter of the vertical foldline. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it was roughly handled, and there is now a 4" crease in the upper left of the poster (both in the poster and the linen itself), and it runs through the middle of the "S" and "O" of "SONG" in the title (it is not that noticeable or distracting, and would surely diminish over time if the poster is left under weight).
