An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Some Like It Hot, the classic 1959 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic musical cross-dressing drag crime comedy ("Hot!!!"; about two out of work musicians who happen to witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago, and they need to leave town in a hurry, but the only jobs they can get is with an all-girl band, and they dress in drag, and one of the band members is Marilyn Monroe!) starring Marilyn Monroe ("and her bosom companions"), Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown (the great star of 1920s and 1930s slapstick comedy, who practically steals this movie with a wonderful comic performance and an unforgettable final line!) Important Added Info: Note that the last time we auctioned an example of this poster it sold for $1,250! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair to good. Someone (likely a demented teen) put scuff marks with something that left a dark line running in an upside down "u" from the center of the image into Monroe's chest (see our image). There is also darkening in the poster except for approximately 1" on all sides, no doubt because the poster was in a frame with some small brown stains around the edges. Obviously the above defects can be restored by a talented restorer, but please bear in mind all of this (and look at our super-sized image) before bidding. Finally note that there are marks in Lemmon's blue dress that look like they could be a defect, but they are actually part of the printing and it is how the dress appears on all other examples so it is intentional.
