An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded German Movie Poster (measures 25" x 37" [64 x 94 cm]) (Learn More) Die Toten Leben (literally translates to "The Dead Live"), the 1914 Walter Schmidthassler German silent family gambling melodrama short (a sad story about a father who is a painter and he suspects his son stole from him and he disowns his son, but years later discovers the son was innocent and the father is depressed because he believes his son is now dead) starring Olga Engl, Ernst Hoffmann, Walter Schmidthassler, and Hedda Vernon If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned an example of this poster or ANY other movie paper for this title before! It is an extremely rare pre-World War II German "country of origin" poster. Virtually no German posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! Condition: good to very good. The poster has tears of varying lengths around the edges (one is very fragile in a corner). There is some darkening and paper loss at the top crossfold. After linenbacking it should display well.
