An Unfolded Special Poster (measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Greetings, the 1949 poster featuring full-length artwork of Santa Claus waving. Posters like these were ordered by many theaters prior to the major holidays, and displayed in their lobbies, but surely the vast majority of them were taken down and discarded as soon as the holiday was over, and they are extremely rare. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was sent to movie theaters at the end of 1949 to display in their lobbies. Most theaters threw these away after using them, and very few survive. We have auctioned a number of posters like these from many different years, and in several sizes, but we have never before auctioned this poster!

Condition: fair to good. The poster has darkened. It has a 14" tear near the center of the bottom border that has clear tape on the back. There are some other tears that have tape on the back. There are smudges, stains, small tears and tiny paper loss around the edges and some smudges, scuffs and creases scattered through the poster. Please look closely at our super-sized image before bidding on this extremely rare poster.
