An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese Movie Poster (measures 22 1/2" x 36 3/4" [57 x 93 cm]) (Learn More) A Hard Day's Night (released in some countries as "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah"), the classic 1964 Richard Lester English rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) musical adventure screwball comedy ("The Greatest Rock & Roll Comedy Adventure"; "The Beatles in their first full-length, hilarious, action-packed film!"; "6 Brand New Songs Plus Your Beatles Favorites!") starring The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr), Wilfrid Brambell, Norman Rossington, John Junkin, Victor Spinetti, and Anna Quayle NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this ultra-rare style of Japanese poster (which measures larger than a regular Japanese B2, 22 1/2" x 36 3/4", and which is printed on a heavier paper stock, and which has some English writing along with some Japanese writing) comes to us from Japan and our Japanese consignor tells us that Christie's South Kensington auctioned a single example of this poster in 2009, and they said that "Recent research suggests that this poster was produced exclusively for the premiere of A Hard Day's Night in Japan.", and that example sold for $862. We previously auctioned two similar posters from "Help!", which were for the premiere of that movie, but we NEVER have previously auctioned this wonderful poster, which has a completely different image from that of the regular Japanese B2 on this title. Condition: good to very good. The poster has scattered faint brown stains on the back of the poster, in the top 1/3 and bottom 1/3. Some of that slightly shows through to the front in the white background areas (t is much more noticeable on back than on the front). While the poster can definitely be displayed as is, it also is a good candidate for restoration, because it is likely that most or all of the faint staining could be removed through chemical means, and either way, this ultra-rare poster will look fantastic on the new owners wall!
