Date Sold 11/19/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 29" x 41" [74 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Micheline and the Device, the 1968 Robert L. Roberts (billed as "R. Jack Roberts") sexploitation movie ("The Device promised... A NEW EROTIC THRILL! ...but it also spelled... DOOM!!"; "She should never have tried The Device!"; "The story of a sick and distorted love!"; "Strictly for adults only!") starring Renay Clair (billed as "Renay Claire"; in the title role "As Micheline"), Rhonda Taylor, Don Smolen (billed as "Don Howard"), Barbara West, and Christan Dee. Note that lead actress "Renay Clair" only made one other movie the following year, which was called "The Corporate Queen". We wonder if her name was not a pseudonym, since we can find no information about her, and her name is incredibly similar to the famous French director, Rene Clair. If anyone knows more about her or the movie movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Is this not the craziest sexploitation movie poster ever? When you read the many taglines on the poster, it is very clear what they are talking about, and we have never seen any other movie from this time period that deals with the same subject matter! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned two examples of this poster before, and the last one that we auctioned has been reconsigned to us for this auction so it is still only the second example we have ever auctioned! Also note that this one-sheet measures 29" x 41" [74 x 104 cm]. Note that in recent months we started auctioning a wonderful collection of sexploitation one-sheets that includes many extremely rare titles from a single collector. This month there are 115 different ones (all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and this consignor only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: fair. The title was written back of the top quarter of the vertical foldline and it slightly bleeds through to the front. Someone added a word in pen over the "Device" at the end of the title (see our image). There is also a partial footprint in the top border extending into the tagline with pinholes in the corners. There is separation and paper loss at the top crossfold and small separation in the bottom two crossfolds. The poster was folded in half an extra time. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
