An Original Vintage Presskit (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; contains 2 supplements, and 7 stills) (Learn More) Cinerama is a widescreen process that originally projected images simultaneously from three synchronized 35mm projectors onto a huge, deeply curved screen. The trademarked process was marketed by the Cinerama corporation, and it was presented to the public as a theatrical event, with reserved seating and printed programs, and audience members often dressed in their best attire for the evening. This original process was later abandoned in favor of a Cinerama system using a single camera and 70mm prints. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this REALLY COOL presskit! It was made right before the release of "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", and this presskit is focused on the Cinerama process and contains cool news releases from June 7, 1963, about the process, and it also contains wonderful stills about the process. What is the best part of it is that two of the stills show producer Stanley Kramer holding a Cinerama lens and with two executives, and another still shows Stanley Kramer in front of a massive Cinerama screen with all the cast projected on it. And there is a great still of the famous Jack Davis art of all the characters on a globe fighting for the bag of money and it is solely the art (see our images of all these items). We would think this presskit is incredibly rare! Condition: very good. The covers have darkened somewhat, but otherwise, the presskit is in excellent condition! Learn More about condition grades
