Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this elaborate hardcover book. Warner Bros. surely was very proud of this forthcoming movie and felt it would be a giant hit, and they created this elaborate book, which they sent to theater owners. It is filled with black & white images from the movie, including many candids (some are images with Capra), and there are four full-color pages of the authentic Tibetan costumes that were recreated for the movie by Dan Grossbeck (famous illustrator). There are also two pages that have images of famed illustrator James Montgomery Flagg, and they provide definitive proof that Flagg not only drew the special one-sheet for this movie that has his signature on it, but that he also drew the art that is used on the "regular" one-sheet, the six-sheet, and other posters, because this book shows him standing by that art, and it says "James Montgomery Flagg and one of his contributions to the posters for Lost Horizon" (see our image). Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: good to very good. There is much staining on both covers, but they are mostly blank. Someone partially cracked the front cover, and it caused surface paper loss in that area, but they did not weaken the front cover. The interior pages are in pretty nice condition. See our many images to get a good sense of the condition of this book.
