Original Vintage Theatrical Double-Bill Movie Pressbook (measures 11" x 17"; 4 pages) (Learn More) the 1960s double-bill release of Ein Toter Hing Im Netz (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "It's Hot in Paradise", and re-edited with new footage and released in 1965 as "Horrors of Spider Island"), the 1960 Fritz Bottger German/Yugoslavian sexploitation movie ("Blood-Curdling! Hair-Raising! Spine Chilling!"; "One bite from a giant spider turned him into the world's most hideous monster with a diabolical lust to KILL!"; "The monster is terror-crazed by his deathly fear of fire!"; "He strangles his victims with his mammoth claws!") starring Alexander D'Arcy (billed as "Alex D'Arcy"), Barbara Valentin (billed as "introducing Barbara Valentine"), Rainer Brandt, Harald Marsch, Elfie Wagner, and Dorothee Parker. Note that this was a low budget 1960 German/Yugoslavian sex movie about seven beautiful girls who crash land on a desert island with one man. I have not been able to find out the full story on this movie, but it seems that it was first released in the United States in 1962 as "It's Hot in Paradise", as it was originally filmed, and that in 1965, additional material was filmed that involved the man being bitten by a radioactive spider (shades of Spider-Man!), which turned him into a "half man/half spider", apparently with terrible special effects, and this massively re-edited version of the movie was titled "Horrors of Spider Island"! AND The Flesh and the Fiends (released in the U.S. in 1961 as "Mania", and re-titled to "Fiendish Ghouls" for this 1960s double-bill), the 1959 John Gilling English horror thriller ("Violent crime with and without passion") starring Peter Cushing, June Laverick, Donald Pleasence, and George Rose NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook is part of an amazing collection of 456 different horror/sci-fi pressbooks (our items #5387 through #5842)! The collector who assembled this collection did so over a span of several decades, and to duplicate it would surely take at least that long, if one started today. But on October 30th, every one of these pressbooks will go to a new owner, as all are being sold with NO reserve. Note that this collection spans the years from 1950 to 1972, and just about every single 1950s and 1960s horror/sci-fi movie is represented here. Also note that we have listed them in DATE order (first by year, and then alphabetically within years). This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire rare pressbooks that almost never are offered for sale! Condition: very good to fine. Note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Since pressbooks were INTENDED to be cut up (the theater owners would cut out the newspaper ads to run in their local papers). It is very difficult to find a pressbook that has NOT been cut, and that ads greatly to their value! tiny tears along the bottom edge as well as some minor creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the pressbook (mostly along the spine and around the edges) Learn More about condition grades
