An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Son of Dracula, the 1943 Robert Siodmak Universal vampire monster horror thriller sequel ("Red Lips Thirsting!"; "Pale Hands Caressing!"; in this sequel, the Count travels from Budapest to the Deep South of the U.S.!; this is the first Dracula movie that shows him transforming into a bat on screen) starring Louise Allbritton, Robert Paige, Evelyn Ankers, Frank Craven, J. Edward Bromberg, Samuel S. Hinds, Adeline De Walt Reynolds, Pat Moriarty, and Lon Chaney Jr. (in the title role as Count Dracula; he is credited on some posters as "Lon Chaney as Count Dracula", though his actual character name in this film is "Count Alucard", which of course is "Dracula" spelled backwards!) We have only auctioned one example in all our years of auctioning and that was 18 years ago, and it sold for $1,791! Likely this poster is SO rare because the movie was quickly re-released just five years later, and original posters were likely used or destroyed at that time. Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. However, the folds have not diminished over time, so it can be re-folded and sent in a flat package, if the new owner has flat purchases to combine it with (and tells us that is what they want us to do). Condition: very good to fine. The poster truly has very minor fold and border wear. Not only is it incredibly rare, but it is also in excellent condition with no restoration!
