He was a U.S. Representative, U.S. Senator, and the Democratic Party presidential nominee in the 1972 presidential election. Note that McGovern was beaten by Richard Nixon in a landslide victory, partially because Nixon had McGovern's campaign headquarters bugged, which led to the entire Watergate scandal, and caused Nixon to resign as President. He passed away in 2012 at the age of 90. AND Sargent Shriver was an American politician and activist from the 1950 to the 1970s. As the husband of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, he was part of the Kennedy family, serving in the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. He was the driving force behind the creation of the Peace Corps, founded the Job Corps, Head Start and other programs, served as the U.S. Ambassador to France, and during the 1972 U.S. presidential election, he was George McGovern's running mate as the Democratic Party's nominee for Vice President. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 95. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
