A Slabbed Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (card measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]; measures 12 1/2" x 16" with slab) (Learn More) Robin Hood, the 1922 Allan Dwan silent medieval romantic fantasy adventure melodrama ("Story by Elton Thomas"; based on ancient English legends) starring Douglas Fairbanks Sr. (in the title role as Robin Hood), Alan Hale Sr. (as Little John), Wallace Beery (as King Richard the Lion-Hearted), Sam De Grasse (as Prince John), Enid Bennett (as Lady Marian), William Lowery (as the Sheriff of Nottingham), Willard Louis (as Friar Tuck) and Bud Geary (as Will Scarlett). Of course, this movie was remade in 1938 with Errol Flynn in the lead role, and the movie was retitled to "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (and Alan Hale Sr. amazingly reprises his role of Little John, 16 years after the first time he played the role). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this lobby card, and that was in a complete set 30 years ago! Also note that this is a movie paper item that was "authenticated" and "graded" by CGC, the famous authenticator of comic books. They gave it a grade of "7.5", and encased it in a mylar sleeve, with an informative strip one on border, and three punch holes another border. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The lobby card was once attached to a mat with a tiny piece of tape on the back of each corner, and there is tiny surface paper loss on the back of those areas.
