An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Heart of the Golden West, the 1942 Joseph Kane singing cowboy western starring Roy Rogers ("King of the Cowboys"), Smiley Burnette, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Bob Nolan & the Sons of the Pioneers, Ruth Terry, Walter Catlett, Paul Harvey, Edmund McDonald, Leigh Whipper, William Haade, The Hall Johnson Choir, and Trigger (uncredited in this early Roy Rogers film) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had a 3" piece of tape on the back of the center of the top foldline, and tape on the back of the vertical foldline between the top crossfold and the middle crossfold. The tape was there to repair tears and small paper loss on the vertical foldline between the two crossfolds. There was also tape on the back of the left 2" and right 3" of the top foldline. There was a 2" piece of tape on the back of the bottom crossfold. Other than the above defects, the poster was in nice condition prior to linenbacking, with only minimal fold and border wear. The person who restored the poster did an excellent job of removing the above tape, and they expertly restored the poster in those areas, and the poster looks great! Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
