An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) You'll Never Get Rich, the 1941 Sidney Lanfield World War II (WWII) Broadway-to-military-army-camp romantic musical comedy ("Exciting beauty and rhythm in a great army musical!"; "Exciting loveliness and rhythm in a star-spangled army musical!"; "Heart-stirring beauty! Scintillating stepping! The gayest of star-spangled army extravaganzas!"; "Join the army roaring riot of stars, songs and girls!"; "Blood-stirring rhythm!"; "Beauty! Rhythm! Cole Porter songs!"; "Beauty to rave about! Rhythm to cheer! Songs to sing and swing!"; "Songs by Cole Porter") starring Fred Astaire, Rita Hayworth, Robert Benchley, John Hubbard, Osa Massen, Fieda Inescort, Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams, Donald MacBride, Lucius Brooks, Leon Buck, Joe Comfort, Chico Hamilton, Rudolph Hunter, Red Mack, and John Porter. Note that this movie was released just two months after Pearl Harbor, and it was one of the first Hollywood non-war movies to have a World War II setting. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was machine folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The bottom 2" of the poster was folded back at one time. There were creases and scuffs along the foldlines. There are many faint scuffs throughout the image area. At this time, Columbia printed their inserts on extremely high-gloss paper (similar to that used for high quality photos), and this paper darkens easily, and scuffs EXTREMELY easily. But like photos of this period, the scuffs are often not very noticeable at all when looked at straight on, and are mostly only noticeable when the item is tilted to the light. Since this poster will obviously not be displayed where it is tilted to the light, I think that this is not such a big defect (and it is likely true of almost all surviving examples of this poster). But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the defects described above (and unless you have examined our super-sized image of this poster). Also, note that some amateur restorer put clear tape over the back of the bottom border and put some sort of white "glue" type material over the back of the top and middle foldlines, and on the back of some of the tiny tears in the borders. None of this affects the front. If I owned this great poster, I would surely have it professionally paperbacked. After proper restoration, the poster would display fantastically, and there would likely be little paint restoration in the image. Learn More about condition grades
