Date Sold 4/8/2003Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 3 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) War Dogs, the 1943 William Hanna & Joseph Barbera (Hanna-Barbera) World War II (WWII) military canine dog animated cartoon comedy short (produced by Fred Quimby; this is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon parody adaptation of "Buck Privates"; it is about the dogs that were used in the military, and it follows one particularly inept dog through the canine version of "basic training"). It has a Tex Avery-like feel to it, and either Hanna and Barbera were intentionally imitating Tex Avery, or perhaps he had a hand in creating this, because he worked at MGM at this time, and had just created "Blitz Wolf" (but if so, he is not credited on this cartoon).
