An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 45" x 61 1/2" [114 x 156 cm]) (Learn More) Les Aventures De Casanova (literally translates to "The Adventures of Casanova"), the 1947 Jean Boyer French historical adventure romantic melodrama starring Georges Guetary (in the title role as Casanova), Aime Clariond, Noelle Norman, Albert Dinan (billed as "Dinan"), and Gisele Casadesus. Note that this movie was released in France in two parts, "Le Chevalier De L'Adventure" and "Les Mirages De L'Enfer". When it was released in other countries, it was apparently condensed into a single movie. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Cinart Important Added Info: Note that this poster is from when the movie was released in France in two parts, and this is the French one-panel for part 1. We are also auctioning a different style French one-panel from part 1 and also a French one-panel for part 2, which has a completely different image, and are in two separate auctions. Also note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie, and that was 6 years ago. The buyer of that poster had it linenbacked and has now reconsigned it to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
