2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Josette of New Orleans, the 1958 Joseph Lee Miami Florida crime murder thriller sexploitation melodrama ("Sultry! Sexy! Sensational!") starring Lili St. Cyr (in the title role as Josette), John Loder, Richard Benedict, Barry Douglas, Lawrence Kerr, Kate Murtagh, Rosemary Pettit, and Guy Rennie. Note that this movie was filmed in Miami, Florida in 1953, and apparently, Republic Pictures was considering releasing it! But it could not pass the censors (because of "unacceptable costume and dance motion"), and Republic tried for a while to get it re-shot or re-cut so that it could pass, but they eventually gave up in 1955. In 1956, an executive from Columbia Pictures showed interest in it, but again, it was rejected. Finally, it was released in 1958 by an independent company. Note that in the movie, Lili St. Cyr plays a girl named Josette who moves from New Orleans to Miami, where she gets involved with gangsters. One of them gets her a career as a dancer, who is renamed Lili St. Cyr!
