McEvoy"; a wacky story of a Brooklyn girl who moves to Manhattan to become an actress and gets involved in all kinds of things including a fake kidnapping, but she finds romance with a reporter and success on the stage) starring Alice White, Donald Reed, Lee Moran, Charles Delaney, Richard Tucker, Gwen Lee, and James Finlayson. Note that, as was typical at the time, the characters in this movie are very "ethnic". The star character's name is "Dixie Dugan", and the people she goes to work for are named "Eppus" and "Kibbitzer", and the kidnapper is named "Alvarez", and her boyfriend the reporter is named "Jimmy Doyle"!
