An Original Vintage Folded Russian Circus Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 33 1/4" [62 x 84 cm]) (Learn More) Fedotov Alexandrov was a circus trainer and performer from the 1920s to the 1970s. He started off as a equestrian trainer as well as an acrobat. He also performed a sharp-shooting act with his wife, Elizaveta Pavlovna Serzhantova. Starting in the late 1930s, he became a big cat trainer and worked with leopards, panthers and tigers. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster! We are also auctioning a different circus poster from this same performer, which also has leopards, but they are not close up. We think that this poster may predate the other poster, and that this poster may be from the late 1940s, and that the other poster may be from the early 1950s, but we can't say for sure. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that this poster is one of a collection of 36 similar posters that we were consigned (and are currently auctioning in 36 separate auctions). They include Russian, Uzbek, Ukranian, and Latvian posters, and some of them are movie posters, and others are circus posters, with a few other kinds of posters.
