An Original Vintage Theatrical German 9 1/4" x 11 3/4" [23 x 30 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Jugend der Welt. Der Film von den IV. Olympischen Winterspielen in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (released in English-speaking countries as "Youth of the World"), the 1936 Herbert Brieger & Carl Junghans German Olympic sports documentary (about the 1936 Olympics held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany). Note that most film buffs are familiar with Leni Riefenstahl's "Olympia" (two movies about the 1936 Summer Olympics in Germany), but almost no one knows this film about the Winter Olympics held that same year. All three movies were produced by the Nazi party, but Riefenstahl was given a massive budget and two years to complete her two movies, while the makers of this movie were told to have it ready in three months, so it could be released in the same year that the Olympics were held in. It is 36 minutes long, and has no dialogue, but those who see it say that there is very impressive coverage of skiing, hockey, bobsledding, and other outdoor sports, with cross-cutting and slow motion that was far ahead of its time. It has scenes of Nazis and Hitler at the beginning and end (as Olympia does), and can be purchased together with the two Olympia movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" still for this German movie! Also note that this still measures 9 1/4" x 11 3/4" [23 x 30 cm]. Condition: very good. There is an embossed Nazi censor stamp in the background at lower left and there are a few pin holes in the corners and minor creases around the edges of the still. The still is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well. Learn More about condition grades
