A Group of 82 REPRODUCTION Photos (measure 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]) (Learn More) House of Frankenstein, the 1944 Erle C. Kenton Universal monster horror thriller ("All together...!"; "Frankenstein's Monster! The Wolf Man! Dracula! The Hunchback! The Mad Doctor!"; "Based on a Story by Curt Siodmak"; the sixth Universal Frankenstein movie, and this was the first "all-star" movie, with all of its best monsters brought together in a single movie!) starring Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr. (as Lawrence Talbot, the Wolfman), John Carradine (as Dracula), J. Carroll Naish (as Daniel, the hunchback), Anne Gwynne, Peter Coe, Elena Verdugo, Lionel Atwill (Atwill must have had a terrible agent that he ended up behind Peter Coe, and Elena Verdugo in the billing!), Michael Mark, Frank Reicher, Charles Wagenheim, William Edmunds, Belle Mitchell, Sig Ruman, and Glenn Strange (as "Frankenstein's monster"). At least Atwill did better than poor Glenn Strange, who played the Frankenstein monster, and didn't even receive billing! Also, is it just me, or is it the height of insensitivity that a "hunchback" was treated as a monster on a par with Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Wolf Man? Also, why in the world did Glenn Strange not get billing on the posters? NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this group of REPRODUCTION photos from classic horror movies is one of 20 similar groups we are currently auctioning, in 20 separate auctions. They were collected by one of the first great horror collectors, John Parnum, who started collecting in the 1960s, and continued until his passing in the 2000s. THESE repro photos were mostly purchased by him in the early 1970s, early in his collecting days, when he was willing to get repros of rare photos where he thought he would likely never find originals. On the best titles, he tried to get a repro of EVERY still that was made! While these are NOT original photos, they WERE mostly created around 50 years ago, and surely it would take a lot of time and effort to track down repros of all of these images, but the winning bidder of this auction will get them all at once! Finally, note that we are not infallible, and there is a slight chance that a few of these may be unmarked reissues, and we suppose a few could be original. Certainly, many are of high quality, and some are likely re-strikes from original negatives. Please look at our images to see what REPRODUCTION photos are in this group! Note: We have 11 images of these photos, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 11 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 1. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
