An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/4" x 30 1/4") (Learn More)

an Australian stock daybill for Walt Disney animated animation comedy cartoons starring Goofy in his "How To..." series of sports and recreation cartoons (including How To Play Football, Olympic Champ, How To Fish, and surely others). The poster has great images of Goofy skiing and boxing, along with a giant close up. It was probably printed in the mid-to-late 1940s or early 1950s. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area, and sometimes the studio would overprint the title of a specific movie, sometimes they sent a series of paper snipes for specific titles, and sometimes the theater would just write in the name of the film.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: A noted expert on Australian daybills tells us that these early RKO daybills have not been trimmed. They were printed by Simmons Limited who printed daybills for RKO in the '40s and into the '50s. RKO daybills at this time were printed without borders.

Condition: good to very good. There are fine white lines that appear to be caused by some kind of printing defect. There are a few small tears along the right edge of the daybill as well as a 1" tear in the middle of the bottom foldline.
