Battlestar Galactica, the 1978 - 1979 Glen A. Larson television (TV) science fiction (sci-fi) action adventure series starring Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict, Lorne Greene, Herbert Jefferson Jr., Maren Jensen, and John Colicos. Note that a movie titled Battlestar Galactica was created from the 1978 "pilot" of this TV series. It was released in Canada two months before the show aired in the United States. The film was released theatrically in several other countries before also getting a limited U.S. theatrical release in late 1978 and a wider U.S. release 1979. Because the movie had a theatrical release, we have it separate from the Description for the TV show.
