An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Matthew 'Stymie' Beard was an actor from the 1920s to the 1980s. He was the star of numerous "Our Gang" comedy shorts, and one of the first black African American actors to achieve success in mainstream sound movies! Some of his movies include: Broken Strings, Truck Turner, and The Buddy Holly Story. He passed away in 1981 at the age of 56.

Important Added Info: Note that this is one of three wonderful stills we were consigned from 1935 that show Stymie, Spanky, and Pete the Dog all advertising Our Gang pencil sharpeners. Each is in its own auction!
